Normal links work just fine ( test: http://www.musicfinland.com/lieksa/english/lieksa_map.html ), but no embedded images I'm afraid. This board could possibly have such a feature, but I'm not a PHP programmer and this server needs all the CPU power it can get, so extra functions should be minimized.

Anyway, I had just noticed myself, it said #3, but as with most forums the numbering starts down a couple, and also admin (Pekka), would normally be member #2 or 3.

Yep. Although I wasn't really coming to the site over the last few years. It wasn't until I got the Rebel XT in March, I decided to become more active here.

I was one of the many, many folks who bought a G1 after having seen Pekka's wonderful gallery. Thanks for the site.

Me too! I remember 2001 when I visited Forum for the first time, soon after that got G1, and almost immediately stopped using film (i.e. analog EOS). Upgrade to G5, then to 20D this year and that was the point when I was ready to join Forum. And I'm very happy doing that.

You know, yeah, when we consider the state of things 10 years ago it is pretty awesome -- I had not gotten my first digicam 10 years ago and yet this place was starting up. It's interesting how many people got involved back then and then just disappeared, and then in the '03-'05 timeframe things really started coming to life as the DSLRs really started to take off -- I know I really started paying attention when the 10D came out -- a lot of photogs really started to pay attention then...

Yep, early '03 is when I showed up. The 10D had just been announced and I was thinking about buying one, so I searched for a place to get some info on it, landed here, and have been here ever since...

I bought my first "real" 35MM camera (a Yashica Rangefinder) in 1967 in Heidelberg, GE when I was a (very) young Army 2nd LT. I'm not older than dirt but darn close ;)

Fatter no,, I've been around this weight for 30 years. Balder maybe, now I shave my melon.

But definitely older. My body is telling me to slow down some. My brain tells me I'm still 25 but my body, anywhere from 35 to 65 depending on the day.
