I got this idea somewhere of converting a RAW with bright sky and dark ground with two different exposures and merging the sky and ground afterwards. Anyway, how does one do this correctly?
I've tried messing around with magic wand selection tool and cutting/pasting but the selection is never accurate enough of course so I have to fix the whole skyline pixel by pixel with clone brush.
Here's a simple RAW conversion of the picture I've been practicing on (this shows the sky exposed the way I like it) and as you can see, the skyline is very irregular:
