Hi,

I've installed the gallery and it's working fine, even though I'm still learning how to work with it.

I would like to add some javascript code from http://www.nedstatbasic.net which provides website statistics. How can I do that or in which php file do I need to add the needed javascript code? I'd like to know where my visitors come from and all that.

Thanks very much for your help.

I am not sure where you'd put the code, but allow me to be the first to tell you that if you modify any of the php files yourself, you instantly void all further support from Pekka, since he cannot spend the time finding out what you screwed up if something goes wrong with your new custom files. I think it would be better to ask him to include it as a feature, rather than doing it yourself... that way if something goes wrong, he can fix it, rather than you modifying something you probably have no clue about.

Also, as a side note, have you thought about using the logging software on your host? thats how I track users. I get very detailed statistics about what files are most popular, which galleries are most popular...etc, as well as where people come from, what browsers they use... even search keywords that brought them to my site.

If you go to Misc Settings, find the "Footer html" section, you can add your code there, thats how I did it.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies you've given.

Evanrich, my domain is hosted at lycos, but how would I go about getting the getting or using the logging software of my host? Is it something i need to ask them about? Or is there a tool that I can use?

Photocroatia, I went to the misc settings page and there's no "Footer html" section? Could it be that I've turned it off somewhere? I'll look around in the various links and see if I can find it somewhere.

THanks again for the help. It's very much appreciated.

The reason why I didn't see the setting in the earlier post is 'b'coz I was using an older version of EE. I've updated to the latest one and found the footer section and added the javascript code there and it works.

thanks a lot for the help.
