I want to use 2 servers for ee and my pictures, has anyone experince of doing this and can suggest the best way of setting it up? I don't mean from an ee config point of view - I have set up paths 2 my 2 servers and it all works fine. What I am more interested in is which directories are best placed where. At present I have ee and my thumb directories on one server and just my pictures on a different server. Will this cause problems if I want to use the ee Upload function because the Upload Temp directory will reside on a different server to the one that I want the pictures to end up on?

Also would it be best to put the thumbs on the same server to the pictures or leave them where they are on the ee server.

Any suggestions welcome

Alan

All temp directories are on the same server EE is in. You can't move them. They are used only as intermediate storage area in upload system.

Only requirements to size path folders and thumb path folders is that they must be accessible by http (WWW) and FTP. Besides that you can build any kind of mixed server and path system you like.

It's good to keep thumbs on EE server. You CAN put them on any server, but then you lose some functionality in editor area.
