so, what is your take on a change of venue, after a contract has been signed and you have agreed to the current location.

if its only a few miles, no problem. but what if its in another town or county, more than 50 miles down the road?

do you suffer the loss of travel fee, do you stipulate something in the contract to that effect?

would like your thoughts and experiences please.

A change in venue, if it's over a few miles, I'd consider a change in the contract. You should discuss this with your clients first and let them know there will additional fees involved due to the change and go from there.

the reason i ask, is that in the UK, the law is changing a bit - just because you put something in your Ts & Cs, doesnt mean its legal. (this has started since the challenge of banking laws over here).

wherein, just because you put a penalty clause (as an example) in your contract that states if deposit is not paid within so many days... blah blah blah, doesnt necessarily make it legal and can be challenged.

so i recommend UK wedding people make sure your lawyer has checked out your contract for legal challenges, or else you could find yourself in trouble one day!

My contract says travel's charged at a certain rate, so i'm covered if things change.
