I took this last evening using 300D and 100/400 with 1.4 convertor.
Although I am happy with it ( dirty sensor aside ).
I was wondering if I could have made the Yacht not such a silhouette?
Comments would be appreciated and thanks for looking.
Cheers John

A very good shot!
Unless you have a flash gun big enough to fill flash the boat your going to have to live with the silhouette. If you'd taken a reading for the boat to get detail you'd have had a very very blown out sky I'd imagine...

Great shot, love it. Reminds me ofm pirates for some reason.
You could take a second photo with a longer exposure to get the boat to expose better then put them together in photoshop, not sure how hard this would be, I'm no pro.

I think it looks much more effective (given the situation) as a silhouette :)...

I can't think of anything other than a great big mirror that might provide some detail on the yacht. Dragging it around might be a problem though. Just kidding, I love this shot and think the sihouette works perfectly.

Thanks all for your comments.
Going to see if I can get rid of the blemishes in PS and print it big.

Love the photo as is. It's the lack of details that gives it a feeling of actually being there.

Great shot! No need to have more detail in the boat - looks good right now.
