I just purchased a Sandisk Extreme 512 compact flashcard for $124.95. I needed the rescue and recovery software packaged with it for a potential emergency so thats worth $30 by itself. I thought it looked like a good buy and I purchased it from B&H which is as reliable as any place as I have ordered from on the web. I get so many tips from all of you, I thought I'd let all of you(my friends) in on the deal. Let me know if you can get it significantly cheaper at a reliable place other than B&H. I like the store but I do not work for them and will purchase from any good source.

Thanks for all of the information. My only hesitation for Lexar rescue software was that I thought I read in a recent thread that it could only be used for Lexar cards and I have about 4 different brands of cards. I have one Lexar card which is currently lost somewhere in my house. Does Lexar software tell you where in the house I put that darn little thing? :D Maybe I need a card with a built in beeper like my phone has?

When you install the Lexar Image Rescue v1.1 from the card, it will only work with Lexar cards and readers. You then go to www.digitalfilm.com and update your Image Rescue to v2.0 (free), which works on all cards and CF readers. I just did this yesterday.
