What should a photographer discuss with a couple before their wedding.
I am just venturing into photography, and I need to be sure that the photographers I work with are doing things right.
....just something to motivate them and build confidence.
Thanks

LOL, all the pro's have just moved past this one i see. There is some great advice in this forum. Search the threads but here's a tip: be a little more specific. The professionals that come here do so on their own free time and give alot of free advice and help. Make their job easier and narrow your question/s to something like this:
1. When you meet with the B&G, do you ask them what specific poses they would like? etc.
last point: the thing that will motivate a B&G more than anything, is the quality of your portfolio. At the end of the day, the quality of your photography will speak loudest of all. Best of luck.

Whatever makes you feel comfortable talking about. Since a wedding is usually all about her (well, almost), ask how they met, what their plans are for the wedding, where they're going on the honeymoon...small-talk They'll probably have questions for you too. :)

Uh, wait, you're going to work with other photographers that are already doing business, and you want to make sure they're doing things right?
They're doing what works for them, so don't expect to change them. Learn from the entire experience, adopt things that might work for you, and change or ignore things that don't seem to fit your personality or style.

How about:
How they met and where
How long have they been together
When's the wedding, date, time, place
What type of photography would they like
Schedule
Payment
Terms and conditions
Where's the reception
What happens when life happens. Limits of liability
What you can offer, in terms of services, deliverables, etc
When will they will get what they paid for. What are they paying for?
Distinguish between all the shots that you will take and what they will actually see. The wont see the dupes, bad exposures, etc
And, that's just the start. An interview with a prospective B&G can take an hour or more before the contract is signed and the money is proffered. And, that's if they sign then. It could take a while as sometimes money is short.
