Lens error message G2

Hi all:

I am getting the Lens error message with my G2. Is it something worth getting an estimate for fixing, or should I throw out the Camera and look for a new one?

that only happens with mine when i forget to take the lense cover off.

might be time to drop it in a pond by accident :P
