Roes Software - Wedding prints

A lab that I m thinking of using wants me to install ROES Software.


Is anyone using this ?
Does it work well with MacBook ( intel duo processers)
Is it easy to use?
Or is there a better program- (I might not even have a choice about it)

Out of curiosity, is that the MVP system you are using?

I have no expereince with it, but I have browsed their site on multiple occassions and believe they have a pretty decent product line.

I use CS2, and I just got DPP ( I havent used DPP yet)

I use ROES with all the companies that I work with. WHCC, MPIX, and Millers. If a compnay didn't use ROES I'd move on - it's a convenient system and getting to be so widely used that transitions are easy between labs.

Sorry my bad, I've only heard of ROES from one online printing company - MVP.

Remote Order Entry System.

Lets you set up your order without waiting for your photos to upload, then you walk away and the upload happens later. Excellent system. I use the MPIX version on a g5 iMac, but it's device-independent (Java).

I am on an i-Mac running 10.3.9 and use MPIX Roes with no problems what so ever. :)

Pamela, I'm guessing that you read it wrong. I don't see how it could - it's really just an ordering system, not an editing program.

Actually Bays Photo Lab's Roes program lets you design Kingston flush mount albums and a few of their other albums..its pretty awesome:). I'm in the process of designing one now. Its really easy.

I use it. It's ok. It works. But is it a wonderful piece of software? My opinion is no. It's not terrible either.
Install it. It is minimal. If you are talking about the same thing as me it's just a java app.

The lab that I use utilizes a ROE's system and it does let you design just about anything you want. You can save them as one of your own templates.

I would insist on using nothing else BUT ROES!!! I use ROES for WHCC, and MPIX. It's the absolute best way of ordering massive amounts of prints. The only way to order photos online prior to ROES was to upload each photo file you want ordered or send a CD to the print house. ROES allows you to model and complete your order prior to uploading the files. Complete your order before dinner or bed... let the files upload while you do whatever. It's just awesome. BTW: ROES= Remote Order Entry System and it's written in JAVA so it's cross platform. Compatible with MAC, Windows, Linux, Solaris, Irix, and whatever other operating system that supports JAVA. :)
