O.K. --- I'm not an "L"coholic yet but I'm going to be when I can save enough money.

So here's my question .......... Do any of you have any special recipes for mac & cheese ( or anything else cheap ) ? Just plain mac & cheese is getting real hard to swallow!

Also keep in mind that to help save money I had the gas turned off so all I have to cook with is this old hibatchi! :? ( I had the electricity turned off too but it seems my battery charger & photoshop needed it so I had it turned back on.)

PLEASE HELP!

Mac & Cheese with a Can of tuna.. = "Tuna Noodle Casserole"

Mac & Cheese with Hamburger, Onions, and diced tomatoes = "American Chop Suey" (cheaper than "hamburger helper" too,.. and it's really the same thing)

Mac & Cheese with Ham = "Ham and Noodle Casserole"

If you can get into a BJ's, Sam's club or other warehouse club, the free samples can help quite a bit.

I wish I could afford meat.

Mac & Cheese with Spam = Mac & Cheese with Spam
Mac & Cheese with Cayenne Pepper = Disgusting, and hot
Mac & Cheese with Spam and Cayenne Pepper = Chili (for the first bite only, so make small batches)
Mac & Cheese with bread = McSandwich

I pretty much lived on mac and cheese "tuna casserole" in college. I also remember being really broke and only having potatoes. So we had baked potatoes, french fries, and hash browns for dinner.....had to save the money for beer!!

That's nothing! I used to live off Campbell's pea soup with ham before I got
married--right out of the can. I'd just put a pat of butter on top, wait for it
to melt, and voilla! Yum, yum. And cheaper than m+c, too, which I really
couldn't afford.

We need to write up a poor-man's guide to affording L-glass...

Rotate between mac & cheese and Top Ramen. You can put anything in Top Ramen... Grass clippings after mowing the lawn, chopped road kill or just about anything else you can find. Shop in the grocery store dumpsters. They toss tons of awesome food.

Dress really bad and hit up a food bank or two. No...not hold up! They will give the food to you.

Cardboard sign on the corner: Will shoot portraits for food always works too.

Too bad Spam in the can (not the email kind) is so darned expensive now...

But make sure you don't show up at the soup kitchen with 'L' glass in your hand... :) :D
