So I was wondering how long some of you wait for a shot? Mine, I guess would be about 6 hours waiting on the Northern Lights. That particular night was a bust. I do have a pretty decent shot on film of a lake with glacier ice that I waited about 2 and a half hours for the right clouds to roll into the shot. Be gentle on this shot, I know crooked, overexposed....But I found patience I didn't know I had!! So how long?? EricL

I don't have much patience. But that's a really nice photo. It maybe overexposed, but you got what counts (composition) right.

I don't mind setting up and waiting for a shot, but you should hear my wife or traveling companions complain!

I like it! I think the slight overexposure adds significantly to the feeling of "Man! That's a cold place."

Anyone for a brief dip?

my hats off to ya man, great shot, you must be single or your wife was shopping or she actually loves photography to and hung with you which would be a dream. Either way great job.

Lovely shot. The exposure is perfect for the shot, IMO.

And I only wait a couple of seconds for a shot, since I'm primarily a sports shooter. :)

On Liza theme, I just shot two days of a track meet hoping to get the "one" shot... which never happened. Oh well. While on vacation/holiday, I will often wait for hours for that perfect light to happen... first day out scouting the scene, later days shooting from 5am until 7 am then again from 6 pm until 8 pm. It works out good since this leaves the middle of the day to do things with the family without the camera. But 6 hours for a single shot... I am impressed. My family probably would leave me behind if I tried that. On the shot you posted, very nice. I am surprised you didn't get more blue in the ice. Nicely done.
