ok .....so i have a 20d and i find that the colours are alittle dull compared to my
g3 where the colours are so rich.
could this be a white balance issue?
and if so what do i set it at
i have change my parameters to get get the best colour but the phots ar still so dull
help!

Not enough information here... We need to know some more about the setting you are using; RAW or Jpeg, Creative modes or Basic Zone, Parameter settings, etc. Seeing some images would be very helpful too.

i shoot in jpeg format most of the time in av mode
my parimeters settings are
contrast 0
sharpness +2
saturation +1
colour tone 0
colour temp.6000
colour space srgb
does this help?

It's not white balance. Most likely you're comparing your 20D to a consumer camera (point & shoot, right?). Virtually all P&S cameras have the saturation level set to maximum as the average person wants contrasty, over-saturated colors in their photographs. Just set your 20D/30D to a higher saturation level if you like the color you get doing that. BEWARE, however, that reds tend to over-saturate very early and you may get unnatural colors. I set my saturation to normal on my 20D's and increase it in post if I need to.
