Canon has just released updated versions of Digital Photo Professional, ZoomBrowser, EOS Utility, RAW codec for Windows Vista, and Picture Style files in the new .pf2 format.
To get the first four installers, go to http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=DownloadIndexAct and select an EOS Digital SLR; for instance, EOS-1D Mark II N. Then click on "Drivers/Software" and a pop-up window will load with the requisite links.
Canon's Picture Style files [in the new, unified .pf2 format] can be downloaded here: http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/picturestyle/file/index.html
I've briefly played around with the new DPP, and it is much, much better in terms of usability. It adds a few new features, moves others to their right place, and leaves me happier overall.
EOS Utility is drastically different. More gloss and Vista-like.
Now go and get them! :-)

Sorry if this sounds a bit dim of me but.........
I have a 5D & 30D, when looking on the download site, I am only offered the update to DPP v2
If I choose the MKIII and am offered the v3 suite, would I still be able to use my 5D and 30D with it, and if so would there still be advantages in obtaining v3?

You should find the DPP 3.0 option a bit higher up the list. Else, choose the 1D Mk II N. The option should definitely be available.
The Mk III will have no downloads until June or July 2007.
You can use DPP3.0 with your 5D and 30D files. I've found it more snappy [decodes images much faster] and sensible [logical placement of controls] than v2.0.
Wait no more :)

Can I use the picture styles in DPP but not install them on my camera?
Example
Default picture styles on 30D
Update DPP, EOS Utlity etc. to new versions
install picture styles to computer
change a picture taken in camera standard picture style to Nostalgia picture style in DPP
Thanks in advance

Yes. This was possible with DPP 2.2, as well.

Would have been nice to include a straightening tool, but you cant have everything. Or am I missing something?

Yes. This was possible with DPP 2.2, as well.
Is this in answer to my question?
Sorry I know its directly under my post, I just want to be sure.

It's a nice improvement - faster image processing & putting the noise reduction right on the tool palate are two significant improvements.

I have an XT and can't get the EOS utility to work correctly with Vista. Remote shooting seems to hang the camera up after a couple of shots and I can't get the EOS utility to automatically start up when the camera is attached. Any experience by other users?
Thanks
Jack
