As I can't manually control aperture by my S400, then how can I do this kinds of job with this one???

If you can't control the aperture, you probably can't change shutter or ISO either. About your only option is through use of neutral density filters.

i believe that you CAN adjust ISO with an S400

Bruce, I also have a s400. What is a neutral density filter ? It sounds like an attachement, but I don't think I can attach anyting to my camera.

You can adjust ISO on the S400: auto, 50, 100, 200 or 400 ASA.

No aperture control though, in fact the S400 hasn't even got an aperture as such :) Also no direct shutter speed control at anything faster than 1 sec.

All it has is a grey filter that is used to reduce exposure at high light levels. all done automatically, you have no control. A click can be heard when the filter operates.

The only way to influence depth of field is indirectly by changing the focal length of the lens by zooming.

If you have an internal light meter--which these cameras have, the neutral density filter will only make the automated setting think the scene is darker than it really is. You shouldn't be any better off. The trick is to focus the camera on a bright portion of the scene and hold the shutter button half-way down to hold the setting. Then return to your picure exposing at the stopped down setting.
