Cool!!! I've been waiting for this for quite a while. MPIX/Miller's is my favorite lab.

Downloading the software now. It looks like they're limiting books to no more than 40 pages, unlike Blurb. The paper is what will make the difference. They use 100# stock, pearl, or linen. As the ex-wife of a printer, I can tell you that's pretty decent. I think I'll order a test book just to see what it's like.
Thanks for the heads up! :)

Not a problem at all, I have been waiting and I thought, let me look, I came out of my chair when I saw they were up.
I won't be able to use them...I wanted a smaller square and hard cover..the 8.5 x 11 is too big...softcover won't work..that sucks...
i will have to stick with blurb for this one thing..
But, I really like the backgrounds and templates that Mpix has. I will use it for other things...I am very sure..
Prices are pretty even and same as others..so that is cool. I know the quality of Mpix, not a problem there at all..
Tell me what you think when you can.

mpix.com is in hutchinson, kansas, about two hours away from where i live. it's nice when you can order something and get it in 2 days, with only paying $5.00 for shipping.

I'm going to use them for sports team books. My BF's son plays both basketball and baseball, so I might be able to market them to his teammates. I might use them for portfolio booksto show prospective clients also.

Just had a look at it and, unfortunately, you can't place your own photo on the cover. So, if you're doing a wedding album, it won;t really work. Oh well.

coreypolis... why bad?
Like with other services I assume that they also have the "full page" option where you can design your own and transfer it into the full page.. just opens up more options

Yes, you can. I downloaded the software.
It looks like it would be a nice solution under certain circumstances, albeit a limited one. They don't seem to have as many options in terms of number of pages as some of the other vendors. I may put together a couple of portfolio books with them since they use good paper.
And I'd never use a consumer product like this for a wedding album. That's why I'm signed on with Zookbinders, Pictobooks, and Bon Match.

You can? I downloaded the software as well and, on the front page, tried to drop a picture and it won't let me.

What paper would you choose: 100# test, pearl, or linen?
Thanks

Probably the pearl, especially if it's Ilford.

Sharedink offers 5x5, 8x8, and 12x12 square hardcovers if you are in their photographer's program, and their quality is much higher than Blurb...

I received mine today. Awesome! I was very impressed with the quality. I choose to print on Linen. You can tell a difference in the front and back of the sheet but the print quality and color is exactly how I sent the shots in.
I uploaded everything as .tiff. The book is exactly as I expected. I'll be doing a few more of these for family and friends.

How long did it take for your book to print and ship?
