On my recent trip to NYC me and my mom walked passed this 'homeless' guy in the street outside Virgin Megastores. I kindly asked if i could take his picture (after putting in his pot $2.00) and he said "Yea sure". Was difficult getting the shot i wanted (with the pot in) because i was using my 50mm nifty, and the street was jam packed. But i still think the shot was successful and i thought i'd try a few varients out on it.
The first one has just had the levels adjusted, and the others are labled.
Thanks for looking.

He's pretty clean-shaven for a homeless guy.
I saw a guy with the same sign in our town, so I bought him a cold one from the nearby market.

It's good to know the downtrodden can still have a sense of humor! :-)

this guy sure gets around. i saw him walking in and out of traffic on the GW Bridge a few weeks ago. Being homeless does pay pretty well!
I like the last version best.

Lol my sister used to work in boots and new this decent guy who worked outside selling the Big issue- then one day he was saying "Yea I sell so many some days I get my wife to bring in some more in her car." LOL
I would have cracked up
Awesome shots- have you found that the guys on the streets are usually really nice- I don't like the ones pressuring you for money- I walk past them, but some guys I have a chat to- decent guys.

There was once this 'homeless' guy who word sit outside every night on our busiest street then go change all his money in my uncles burger bar.
Every night he made around £300....he lived in a nicer house than my uncle who had 2 business's, also drove a BMW.
Being homeless was his job! Beats a 9-5 I guess!
He was so nice though...Thats why he earned so much...His homeless clothes even smelt of washing powder.
not seen him in years though..he is prob banged up for fraud!

Good capture - he seems a bit too clean shaven though to be a true homeless guy. I wonder if he eats at the Bowery Mission.

I really dig the last one one, how did you get that effect? In the bottom right hand corner you put "Lomo" , is that an effect?

Thanks for all the comments people! :)
bassicrob - thats cool to know others on the forum have seen him!
The guy was really friendly, and kindly shouted at one person who was just about to walk into my shot lol. Then this lady said to me "Well darlin', arent you going to pay the guy for a picture", i said "I just have :), got to hand it to him!"
HectikHector - Thanks, yea the effect on the last one is known as Lomo. Its a photoshop action. I'm not too sure if you know how to use actions so i'll give you instructions on how to install/use them.
1) Download the attachment in this post
2) Open the zip and copy the 'BHP Actions.atn' file
3) Find you adobe photoshop folder, for me its "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\"
4) Then go into the folder 'presets', then 'Photoshop Actions'
5) Paste the BHP Actions.atn file into this folder.
6) Open up adobe photoshop, load an image.
7) Click 'Actions' in the pallet on the right hand side (next to history).
8) Click the little arrow, and select BHP Actions.
9) Click the blue arrow, then click the first bit "The look of lomo", and click the play button.
That should work for you, any problems just send me a pm.
:)
More comments welcome :)!

I think credit should be extended to the one who created this Lomo action, Beau Hudspeth, who is also a member here at POTN. The Lomo thread can be seen here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=275545&highlight=bhp+lomo

Cheers! I am glad that Beau made this Lomo action, it looks so good when applied to certain urban pictures. And to share it with POTN members, for free, that is just a class act. :)
