As I said in my other post (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=302606) I had decided to remain in the poor position as it gave a great insite as to the different ways a bend can be taken :)

Appologies for the poor quality of the images. I very much need to practice with the lens and it was very restricting having it poking through a hold that was not much wider that it was.

Oh, and one last thing. Anyone like to add a caption to the next photo?

Gawd I really need to go on a diet :o .
At least you've managed to catch some action on what was probably the most boring day of motorsport I've ever attended. Sprinting is definately an acquired taste  .

Cheers,

Simon.

"Ooh that's a big one. Can i have a play with it?"

I was going to have a look at this but after a great day at Oulton Park on Saturday, then the Nightmare of Chavington...err Donington on Sunday i decided to give it a miss.

"Hey, I know a good hair clinic, look what it did for me".

Simon, we are all suffering from the winter waistline expansion.

Looks drier and warmer than it was at Oulton Park. I like the series of shots.
Got a free copy of Westfield World (they used one of my shots) and I am thinking of becoming a gentleman racer next season. Might even try sprints and hill climbs (heaven forbid).

Have you got a Westie?

Why not come to one of my track days at Middlesbrough and get some passenger rides. Loads of different cars and different engines

The problem with sprints is that its quite a lot of money, for not a lot of action! The entry fees are cheaper than a proper race, but in terms of value for money, its not that good. A sprint entry is about £ 80 or so, and for that you get about 7 miles of competition!

We tried sprinting our F3 car last season (3 events - Bentwaters, Brands & Lydden) and I worked out that after all this both drivers had 21 miles under our belts. The cars being prepared for Monoposto racing this season.

Hillclimbs have too many trees for my liking, and down here in Norfolk, there is a severe shortage of hills!

Sprinting does not seem to offer good value ie amount of time on the track but its one of the cheapest ways of getting into track sports.

I have concidered the Norther saloons but you have to get a certail type of licence which required going thro ARDS

This may help - http://www.darlington-motor-club.org.uk/index_layout.htm

No, I used to race FF and still keep renewing the licence (medicals are getting expensive though) and have been considering a season or two in something before I get too old and decrepid to get behind the wheel. Westies are relatively cheap to get hold of and there's always a home in DDMC or NW Saloons.

Too old?? You're just a spring chicken  . Allan Staniforth started his 53rd year of hillclimbing on Sunday at Harewood, and he's in his mid eighties.

Sprinting is the cheapest way to get into competitive motorsport, but in terms of tracktime its less good.

The good thing is that you can turn up in a relatively standard car, and some fairly cheap race clothing, and you do not need a full race license + ARDS test - you can apply for a license on the day.
