Remove their rings!
Quick question:
I notice that there are a few pictures posted of the rings with the bride and groom in the background. Cyber pet has recently posted one in which the rings are set in a snow ball with the B&G someway behind.
Would you ask them to remove their rings? I have always tried to get the ring shots prior to the service as i do not like to ask them to remove them once they are married.
Do you / Would you do this??????
Maybe i am just being a bit paranoid on the issue but i always fear the bride saying no way!

never had a problem with it, but we will usually try to do it before hand, but no 2 wedings are ever alike

before hand is ok for just the rings (can normally get them from best man) but how can you get the bride and groom in as the don't meet until the service?

It's okay afterwards too. It's not as if they will keep them on their fingers ALL the time once they are married (and I'm not implying anything bad... my wife doesn't always wears hers around the house, when cleaning, etc). I'm just careful with them, the B&G keep an eye on them and all goes well :)

Bring it up before the wedding when you meet with them, maybe show them some nice rings shots. Then you don't have to worry about awkwardness during the shoot.

I always ask. I've been turned down twice in 15 years.

I take my wedding band off everytime I make chicken and dumplins. I don't see why anyone wouldn't take them off for a photo.

In my case, I couldn't though... I have big knuckles and smaller fingers. Once I get the ring past the knuckle, it's very hard to remove... But our photographer took shots with the rings on our fingers :)

We almost always ask for their rings later on at the reception, once all the formal stuff is done and then we go get creative with them. It's never been a problem.

I would not ask for the rings prior to the ceremony mainly for two reasons
1). People stress about loosing the rings so I don't want to be responsible for the keeper of the rings to misplace them.
2). I believe that the rings signify much more once the ceremony has occurred. I like to shoot the rings along with the certificate signifying that the ceremony has been completed. I also try to make sure that when I return the rings I get the groom to place the brides ring back on her hand and vice versa, kind of reinforcing their vows.

I do - especially if the groom has 'hairy hands' and filthy finger nails! :)

Never a problem, although getting them off their fingers can be... the said photo we speak about, the guy had to chill down his ring finger with some snow to get it off. :D
