Well here they are. Not very good but I promised I would post them.

Full set is available Storm Large at the Ale House (http://www.z-photography.ca/Concert_pictures/Storm_Large/index.html)

We got to have fun with her here, the guy is a jock from the radio station KROCK 1057 (http://www.krock1057.ca) named SideShow. There was a whole write up that went with these images. It went like this:

KROCK Jock found in compromising position.

Say it's not true!! Could our young super jock SideShow have stooped to such a low as to try to take advantage of an obviously vulnerable Storm Large after her amazing performance at The Ale House by forcing her into the womens bathroom?!?! Good thing crack K-ROCK photographer Andrew Cook was on scene to catch the crime in progress and prevent SideShow from delving into the dark side. Who knows what might have happened if he was not stopped!!

4. Who are you, thinks SideShow.

5. Oh my god it's that Andrew guy from KROCK, it's the poporatzie!!

This all took place on stage right after she finished her set. The crowd could see them together at the side of the stage and I was actually out on stage taking the pictures but the crowd did not know what was actually going on.

I like the quality of the first three and would crop them tighter... For example, I would trim the first one from her knee up... and get rid of all that empty space... while placing maximum emphasis on only her and the mike... I'm going to try it and see if the image hold up to being enlarged...

Here it is... I trimmed it in Photoshop to a 3x5 ratio...used auto levels, desaturated the colors slightly, sharpened twice, and used Noise Ninja...

I'm a bit over-sensitve to burning channels (red in at least 1-3)... Negative EC (and *cough* shooting RAW *cough*) would help.

KMB - these were all shot in RAW, I always shoot in RAW. The biggest problem here was the lack of lighting. Dim white light was all that was used with no color in front and just red in back. The lighting didn't change and the pose didn't either.

Same here. (edit: reaction to Kalles post)
I like the crop John did a bit better then the original.
I also think #5 is oversaturated, and #5 and 6 are too cotrasty. #4 is a bit too hazy...
IMO #4, 5 and 6 should look identical WRT processing / lighting.

Well, guess that proves it ... RAW ain't what its cracked up to be! Bracketing on the other hand is dynamite!:lol::lol:

I might try to shoot JPG some time and see if I have the talent for that (although I think I can't be bothered to expose correctly ;)), but I fear my camera might self-destruct if I would switch off RAW. This would be much more probable than, say, Finland winning the Eurovision contest a second time in a row (this year's contest will be held in about a month in Helsinki).

Dwight talked about bracketing and I was reading in another thread where he explained it. It was one of those things where I heard it mentioned in the past but had no clue as to what it was and was so into honing my skills that I never gave it a second thought. Last night I setup my camera to shoot 3 frame brackets for my next gig which is in about a week. I think this may be an invaluable tool. Especially with the venues that I have to shoot in and the lighting I am presented with. I will still shoot it as Raw as I like the little bit of extra adjustments it offers. But I want to thank everyone once again for being on this forum and sharing the knowledge you all have and to help us rookies become better at what we are trying to capture. Like allot of things I learn something new and run with it for a while and then look to learn something else and this is the next sept I guess for me.

So again thank you all for being here and being who you are, some of the worlds best photographers and photography teachers.

Zenith... with bracketing, your settings will erase and reverse back to default, when you turn the camera off...same will happen when you switch memory cards... each time you will need to turn "Bracketing back on to your selected settings." You'll be going through more memory...in triple shot, one gig goes in just a few minutes...especially while also shooting RAW.

Thanks John, I didn't know about it resetting. I am not worried about the memory use. I have more memory coming. I have 2 - 2gig now and looking to get a 4 or 8gig.
