I've been busy the last few weeks and I haven't had much time to post. I had this engagement session last night with a bride who's wedding I'm shooting in a few weeks. I know some people have strong feelings about tattoo's, but I personally really enjoyed doing something different for a change and the bride is really a sweet girl in a lot of ways - she just looks sorta tough. Photo critique (as opposed to tattoo critique) is welcome : )

Here's a few to share:

I really like #2 and #3, but all are great.

I would love to be able to shoot someone with lots of ink. I have one tattoo myself and I think they can really add to a picture at times.

cool shots.
wow... veil, tiara, black suit and bouquet for an e-shoot? Almost thought this was the wedding pictures.

Nice to shoot something cool like that. my fav is the BW one... looks like a tender moment for a tough looking girl.

Wow!

Absolutely amazing shots. I really like them!

I like the effect of the veil with the more casual outfit ... brings out her personality (or at least what I percieve it to be).

Thanks for the kind words. It was a really tough shoot as we were short of time and the couple was getting kind of stressed about the wedding coming up,- but they hung in there and let me boss them around for a little while and I'm glad we got some good shots out of it. The wedding is going to be a lot of fun, I'm sure.

Cheers

Mrs. Opie,
I really like #3 too because it's one of the very, very few where the groom opened up for a moment. He was really reserved most of the time.

Kim,
Thanks. I did more pp than I usually do, but they just warrant it and they obviously aren't nearly as conservative as some of my other clients.

cheers.

I like the location, seems to give it that edgy feel, the groom and bride really fit together too. the style is awesome, just not soo typical like most others. great work!

I just noticed the tattoo on her left arm ... "Love is just a 4 letter word" ... and she's getting married. That's great!

It's fun to do something different sometimes. Even w/the tattoos, she still looks very feminine and girly. She's very pretty. I'm not super crazy about #4, would like to see more in front of that wall, though. I really like the rest a lot, especially the last one. You did a great job capturing the emotion. I love them in the first, very cute, but not the sign or the two guys in the background.

Nice pics! Love the edit and poses, the veil is new for me,,, was that your idea or thiers?

We ended up in downtown san diego by default. We were supposed to go to the coast, but they needed more time to get ready, so after waiting around for a while, I suggested we just stay local - it's a good thing they live down there. I've never shot in that area, but it was fun looking for places.

Jessiper, which wall are you referring to? The brick or the purple?

Elena, the veil was ALL her idea, but I'm so glad she did it. People on the street were congratulating her all over the place, as if she got married in that dress.

These are great. My favorites:

#1 - The e-shoot should be fun and tender. This is a good example of the first. They are obviously have a great time. Great capture of the moment/emotion!
#3 - Tender moment. To my mind, it doesn't get much better.
#5 - Another tender moment. And the B&W conversions doesn't suck either - nicely done! (in case you missed the point).

I have no doubt the couple will be very pleased with these!

Doing the shoot with her in her veil - now that's a great idea. Could really get her (or maybe them) into the mood of things!
