One and two look pretty weird, Richard... They are not that comfortable a position to be standing in... I'd tend to shy away from using those as opposed to #'s 4, 5, 6...

oooh yours look awesome.
I have to disagree with Johnstoy though - having seen them play like, 4 times myself- I really like numbers 1&2, (but particually 1) 'cause they capture exactly how Gareth is on stage perfectly. :)
p.s how much do you wish she'd just turn around when she's playing!

I like #1 and 2 best. I think I would have cropped both a bit closer, but that's a personal preference.
#3 is nice as well. In #4 I find the mic a bogger bother then in #2.
In 5 and six, I'd brighten the subject a bit. (On #5 a lot). I think of these two, #5 has the best stance / expression, yet the worst lighting (Murphy again...)

Richard is always good for a debate... provided I give him some material to work with... He's probably thinking stuff up right now...
I think the performers need to show some face to the camera... I shoot for faces first and most everything thereafter falls into place...

i like 1 and 5, for pretty much the same reasons as rené but i don't find 5 too dark; i like it as is.
how's Rui's replacement fitting in?

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated.

I know it might come as a shock to the system John but I don't lie awake thinking of witty retorts to your comments - sorry to disappoint!
Gareth is quite the wild man on stage - a guitar weilding, crazy eyed whirling dervish and the reason I chose the shots above is that I felt they captured his performance better than any of the others from the day. Just for you though, here's another with a little more face (note the emphasis on little). I did take a lot of close ups but I felt they don't have the impact of these shots.

Dwight it's a coming! I have been occupied with other stuff; I am completely overhauling my website and will have the new watermark displayed on all photos - it's simply not worth the time to go back and change existing ones.

Dan Luscombe is fitting in very well - I have seen both lineups several times... as a friend of mine's mother would say... he fits in "like a thumb in a bum".

Hey Richard... You're here, cool... What time is it in Australia?
You're right about my time clock... It's been altered a bit, while trying to choose and post process from thousands of images... I don't like to stop till I finish a set...
Don't get into that routine, yourself... It's not easy to come back to real daytime right away... especially after three or four sleepless nights...
The new picture of Gareth is more similar to RuthElizabeth's pics... they pics are dramatically different... I sometimes wonder about eye appeal...
no big deal... it's your show...

This one got a dose of "Levels", Black & also White sampling adjustment, sharpness, Noise Ninja (fade applied,)... Also, contrast and saturation modified... Used both Photoshop and Canon's Zoom Browser EX tools...
Maybe, Rene', Taygull, Kelle and/or Dwight or anyone else, have some additional suggestions...
