hi im just trying my hand at some macro photography got some advice frome lord v's web site on flickr and after looking at some of his pics i just could not wate to give a try. the 2 shots here are from the first 12 shots iv done ever over the last 2 days some c&c would be just great.

Very good entry with both shots! The composition of both shots is really good. I can see you have been paying close attention to Brian's advice! You can improve the ladybird image by reducing the noise. I use Neat Image.

I think they are fantastic shots. See what happens when you learn from the best.

Great start. We'll have to keep watching for future posts from you. Perhaps the ladybird photo could do with some cropping from the top and a little from the left side; this would bring more focus to the ladybird. What lens did you use?

thanks all for your comments im very greatful . the camera used was a 1dmk2 with a sigma 105 macro lens shot at 1-1 with a canon 550 flash on a bracket on the end of the flash to diffuse the light i used a gary fong light sphere that i use for my portrates and it worked great hope this info helps.

This is one of the few things i've tried with an A640 that has failed spectacularly. Kudos points I think - if that's your first you, you have an amazing future. I however will have to content with empty leaves adorned with dew drops.

Very nice! Congrats on the new lens. On the second shot I toul rotate 180 degrees.
