A while back I found instructions on how to set up an action in Adobe CS2 where it would automatically put your copyright in the exif of any picture when saved by the “save as or save options”. Worked great just edit your photo and hit Save as and it triggered the action. I now have a new a new computer and can’t find my instructions on how to create this action. Does anyone know how to do this or know where I found it, I am sure it was this forum or Adobe, because these are my main forums that I use for digital photography.
The article I found was no more than a month ago. I have run a search for it on POTN but I must be using the wrong key words because I haven’t found it yet.
This forum is absolutely outstanding. I lose a lot of sleep from staying up late at night just lurking in the shadows.
Thank You

You and I both, my man.
Don't have a response for you, but I wouldn't mind one, for sure. Would make things a helluva lot easier...than doing it every single time.

Remember that you could apply your copyright in Bridge to all your files at one time.

Yes, bridge is one of the biggest time savers that you can use in CS2.

I never really used Bridge that much, except to sort through my pics. I'll have to spend a bit more time exploring it I think!

Automatic Copyright
[From the PhotoshopHelp Blog] Yesterday while digging around in the Scripts Event manager, I had a great idea. What if I set up Photoshop to add specific copyright information to any image that gets saved on my computer? That could be helpful...
I started by creating an Action.
Open an image in Photoshop.
Click the New Action button in the Actions palette.
The New Action dialog box appears.
Name the Action - Add Copyright.
Click Record, to begin recording your actions.
Choose File> Info.
The File Info dialog box appears.
In the Copyright section, I added the following information...
Copyright Status: copyrighted
Copyright Notice: © Jim Barthman
URL: www.photoshopHelp.com
Click OK.
Press the Stop button in the Action palette to stop the recording.
Read on to learn how to implement your new Action.
1: Choose File> Scripts> Scripts Event Manager.
2: The Scripts Event Manager dialog box appears.
3: Choose Save Document from the Photoshop Event: dropdown menu.
4: Select the Action option.
5: Choose the Action Set and the Add Copyright Action from the Action: dropdown menus.
6: Click Add.
7: The Event/Action is added to the window.
8: Click Done.
Now whenever you save a file using the Save or Save As command, the copyright information will be added automatically. Clients receive duplicate copies of image files. Because they have been duplicated, they must also be saved and as such, will have my copyright information embedded as Metadata, automatically. Beautiful.

What are the specs on your computer? How many files are in the folder you are using? At the bottom left hand corner is an icon that goes around in a circle while Bridge is building the cache for the files. Is that moving? You might want to change your cache preferences to "Use Distibuted Cache Files" under Edit > Preferences.

I didn't mention what using "distributed cache files does" so let me do that now. Bridge can either keep one central file (use centralized cache files) or keep a file in each folder for cache files. Ditributed cache is faster but there will be two extra files in each folder when viewing in Windows Explorer. I don't recall if there are any downsides to using distributed files over centralized.

for how much faster its running i think i can live with each file having two extra files

It is possible to create and save specific metadata templates in the File Info dialog in CS2. Once this is done the data can be applied to an entire folder of images using the File Info in Bridge.
What I did was create a template with all the pertinent data, includingwith copyright information and all the usual IPTC fields filled in (except image specific items like description and key words.) I then open a folder of images in Bridge, select all of them and apply the information to the entire folder of RAW files. Then, as I process individual images, I will open the file info and add the description and key words. All the information goes along with the completed jpegs.

This approach sounds good to, I will give it a try.
