My son works on those very planes, does the radar grids on the S-3's there at Jacksonville NAS. If Im not mistaken thats the last squadron of active S-3's ,and those are being phased out in 09.

as in Jacksonville, Florida? I live 30 min from it, I see vikings sometimes, but see P3 Orions everyday! (I love P3s by the way)

The S3 Viking is one of the favorite planes from my past...great little sub hunter. Really like the 3rd shot.

Thanks everyone :) . Im sure the last of the Vikings will surely be missed when they eventually go. A real treat to spend some time with the 'Checkmates' and the ' Maulers'. I will post a gallery of the orion and hawkeye squadrons when i find time to edit the shots.
