Resize folders

I have created a seperate upload path that secured photos are uploaded to. This is to prevent direct linking to pictures that by using the front-end you cannot access.

This is working great, however the Thumbs and Microthumbs are still created in the main Images folder, meaning that these are still accessible.

I had created a Thumb and Microthumb directory under the new path and these are setup correctly in the paths area, but these seem to be ignored. How do I link the main path to these Thumb and MT paths so that when you upload to a.n.other path, the Thumbs and Microthumbs follow?
