Great news. I posted some of my pictures taken with my G3 and Rebel over the past year on a local tv stations website gallery.
I was just contacted and told that a visitor really liked one of my pictures and wants to buy it for a gift! :D

I have to find out what size he needs, etc, but any idea where to start for pricing? Or is this too vague a question...

Actually, I guess that is really a silly question, especially since I didnt specify size, price for prints, etc.

Guess Im just excited that someone wants to 'buy' a picture of mine!

Exercise a little caution here. Do not sell him the original, or rights to reprint or publish unless that is what you intend to do. What I mean is, if you are selling him a print, sell him a print. Mark the back of the print with copyright info and/or watermark or sign the front. That way the labs won't reprint it.

Pricing is a difficult thing for a print. Normally, when I do Art Shows and Festivals (I haven't done one in years), I sell matted 8x10s for anywhere from $40.00 to $100.00 depending on the shot and how many I print. If I print an unlimited number of them, then they are in the lower price ranges. If I limit it to, say 100 prints, then I will sign and number them (like 1/100 for print number 1 of 100 prints) and they will be in the higher price range.

If you are selling him the original (which I think is a bad idea), then you are talking bigger money. Depending on what he's going to do with the photo, it could be anywhere from $300.00 to $1,000.00 or more.

Congratulations! That first sale is always exciting.
