Epson Pro 3800 users, paper choice?

I have read very good things about the Epson Velvet fine art paper on the Pro 3800. It's kind of pricey but I'll give it a whirl. Wondering if anyone has experience/advice with other good papers for both B&W and color, 11x14 and up.

Are the standard quality mattes pretty ok for color, or do you pretty much reserve those for B&W?

The Velvet Fine Art is really formulated for color prints. The enhanced or heavy weight matte is more for B&W.

I use the Ilford Gallerie Smooth Peral almost exclusively with my 4800
