Hi guys thanks to some of you and from others on other forums I've been convinced to go canon over nikon and pentax.

My next delimma is do I get a 10d now or do I wait a couple of months and get it's replacement. I have read the rumours that a Mk11 will arrive sometime later this year. Any thoughts on this? I can wait it's not like I really need one urgently and I would be pretty upset buying something and finding it's outdated in a couple of months.

I plan on getting the 17-40 f4.0, 24-70 f2.8 and the 70-200 f4.0. I would also be interested in the 300 f4.0 has anyone here have any experience with this lense, how do you rate it and is it worth getting. My other choice would be getting the 100-400 over the 70-200 and 300. What combination would be best.

I've looked at the 100-400 and I'm not to sure about the push pull zoom design.

Well I think the best question would be, does the current 10D provide everything that you would want/need? if it does, why wait for something just because it's newer. Get a camera that does what you want, how you want, not because its "better". If you are still unsure, please post what it is that you want/need from a camera, and we'll help you decide if the current 10D will work, or if even perhaps another model will be a better fit.

I'd like to build on what Karl said here. The MK II is going to be an amazing camera that I believe will be an excellent choice for either a Sports or Wedding photographer. 8.2 megapixel and 8 1/2 frames a second puts the MK II right up there as probably the Fastest DSLR in the world. The only downside is it will cost roughly $3000 more than the 3 frame per second 10D, BUT, with roughly 2 megapixel more in the resolution department.

All cameras are going to eventually be "outdated". So what? If it serves your purposes today, it will still serve them next week, even if a "better" model comes out tomorrow. The camera is, in my opinion, the least important part of the equation anyway. The glass and the photographer are much more important. Just make sure that the camera has all of the features you need for the type of photography you do..things like bracketing controls, exposure compensation controls, white balance controls, mirror lockup, DOF preview, etc.
