Does anyone have any good ideas or tips on photographing a tall groom (6'+) and a relatively shorter bride (5'4) ? Any book recommendations?

(I'm doing amateur work for this couple that is not hiring a professional...not my idea.)

thanks

I would either have him seated with her standing over his left shoulder, or in front of a staircase, with her on the first or second step.

Just a suggestion, your mileage may differ. ;)

If her dress is long enough, you can always use a milk box.

Seriously tho, him sitting or the stairs is great idea. Also you could have her stand at an 45 degree angle with him behind her and his arms around her and his hands holding hers which would be crossed in front of her.

This is exactly what came to my mind.

- Him on one knee in front of her, proposing.
- From an elevated position, him standing a fes steps behind her
- Him hugging her from behind, bending down a bit, her looking up over her shoulder

Been there, done that

Best regards,
Andy

I am taller than my wife (about a foot taller) and at our wedding our photographer took some really nice pictures of us with me about 5-6 feet back. obviously she was the subject and I was the suitor, but it made me look not so humungous in the pictures.

We also did a few where she was sitting on a bean bag and I was sitting on the ground.

Good luck with it.

We shot a recent wedding in a park. After all of the formal poses, we posed the bride and groom on a hill. The bride was about 5'7" and the groom was about 6'7", but we put him a half-step downhill from her, and that put her face centered at about his chin.
