Hi

I thought I sent an email about this but I cannot find it in any of the forums! Sorry if this is a repeat!!

The default resolution on my Canon A75 is 1600x1200 Fine. Will this make an acceptable 5x7? Will it make an acceptable 8x10? If not, what is the lowest resolution that will?

My camera came with a 32mb memory card and if I put it on the highest setting I only can take 18 pictures. If I leave it at the default I can get 53 which is enough for my needs.

Thanks for your comments!

Vivienne

Hi,

Me again...

I have the step down from your camera, the A70, my camera is set for the most pixels and biggest file size, and I've printed 4X6 and 8X10 and found them very acceptable. I've used Canon's Easy Print to generate the prints. I also have a 512 card so I rarely get it close to full...

For 5 x 7 prints you can likely get away with smaller image size. You can also use fine instead of super fine compression, though you'll gain a few flaws in your images that you won't see unless you inspect side by side images...

Strongly suggest keeping an eye on the papers or shops looking for a good price on a suitably larger card. I would suggest 256 or 512. The more room you have the less you need to worry about running out... Perhaps two 128's might work if they are on sale and the 256 isn't...
