Hello,

I am having problems with my sandisk usb card-reader in combinations with my NEW CF sandisk Ultra II 512 memory card!

When I put my Compact Flash card in my reader I am unable to copy my pictures to my computer. I can see the drive (->CANON (H:) that is made and I can see the directory's that are made (like Canon103 etc.) and I can see that ther are jpg files on the card, but I am not able to copy/move/open them or to copy anything to the card? Also with the canon software Zoom browser EX it doesn't work.

With the Compact Flash card that was included with my camera (canon 32Mb) and my older sandisk CF 128Mb (normal) card I don't have problems at all with my cardreader.

The CF sandisk Ultra II 512 memory card works perfect with my canon camera! If I connect my canon camera directly to my computer with the USB-cable and the sandisk CF Ultra II card inside it also works perfect!

I did try it on windows XP (automatic detection of my card-reader) and also on my friends windows 98 computer (install the software for the cardreader): At my friends computer it was making my CF Ultra card unreadable everytime I tried it and I had to format my CF card.

Does somebody has any idea what could cause the problem? (card-reader? CF Ultra card? Format?)

I think that the problem is the card reader. I can read Ultra II and other CF without problem. Some non updated card reader may have problems with different CF.

Is there a firmware upgrade for it oon their site?

I had to upgrade the firmware on my card reader to be able to read Xd cards over 256MB.
The symptoms before the update were the same as you describe
