I just pre-ordered my EOD 1D Mark II from www.JR.com . I'm #22 on the list. They expect an allotment of 31. Since I got off the phone I have that empty feeling in my stomach and some light headedness. Maybe because I spent less on my first new car!
I buy all of my camera bodies from J and R because of their no hassle 30 day return policy. B&H only give 15 days.
Well, you know what they say, "No luggage rack on a hearse!"

That light-headed feeling will be nothing compared to the excitement of its arrival and then that dread of having to pay for it.

Scott:
Congratulations. FWIW, I bought a new pickup yesterday that cost almost the same as my first two houses put together.

Hey! Scott, if you don't spend it someone else will, I guarantee. ENJOY your new camera mate. [F.R.] :) :)

I'm with ya'! My car cost 3 1/2 times what my first house cost, and my truck about 2 times. Of course, if I made then what I make now....well, things would be a little different.

Thank you all for your support. I'll make sure I'm sitting down with a paper bag in my hand when I open the credit card statement!

Congrats, Scott! Forget about the CC bill and just think about all the great action shots you're going to get wth your new "toy".
And when the cc bill does come in, don't even look at it...maybe it'll go away!

My camera costs 1000 times more than my first car! Of course, my grandfather gave me my first car for free when he died...
