As much as i would love to buy a large format printer. I can not see spending 400 to 600 on a printer right now. What I am looking for is a good 8x10 printer. normal format. These are the features that I would like.

multiple ink cartradges, so if one runs out i don't have to replace all
Does great black and white pictures
documents don't really matter as i have laser for thatThis is strictly going to be for prints. I know epson and canon are highly rated. I don't necessarily need a scanner or fancy lcd screen. I just need a printer that prints great. the biggest point is black and white photo printing. My old hp photosmart did a lousy job at black and white.

Budget is 150 or less. Lower the better! somebody please give me some good advice. When i go to the stores, the people have no clue what they are talking about and seem to guess which one to recommend.

I've heard the HP 8750 is good on B&W.

I just picked up the Canon Pixma iP4300 and when using good paper it amazes me. The black and white prints i've done with it have come out extremely well(when using the right paper). But this printer is pretty much the same as a ip6700 without the gimicky lcd monitor and useless features I know I wouldn't use.
