In desperate need of help installing...

I have uploaded EE 1.5 to my site and have tried for days to try and get it running, but end up getting more and more confused! I'm not a programmer, and am finding this installation to be very difficult. Would greatly appreciate help installing....

Errors so far encountered:

1) "FTP server info" - When running "test now" I get the message

msg 100 | ftp: ftp://mysite.com ftp://mysite.com
msg 99 | ftp: local: FTP TEST PROCEDURE STARTED

and that's it!

2) "Path set up" Can't see my pictures which I have uploaded using CuteFTP and placed in:

http://mysite.com/public/gallery/normal
http://mysite.com/public/gallery/thumb
http://mysite.com/public/gallery/microthumb

Should I be able to see the pictures if I place them into the above folders? When I type in the link to the pictures using IE I see them!

PM me your ftp info (username, server, pass), database info and gallery URL and I'll take a look.

I have also spent atleast 3 hours fiddling with this any assistance to get thisthing rolling would be greatly appreciated...

Looks to be a very fine program I cannot get it to show ANY pictures though....install went fine, have been changing settings to my liking but have not actually got a picture to show up on the index of the gallery...
