I was looking for an IR filter for my 300D but none on ebay and I found some on some generic looking website but they were $76.00. Is that a normal price? Can I even get one for my camera? I don't know if I could ever spend that much on a filter!!! Please let me know any info on this. I looked up 300D+IR filter on yahoo but no answers. I keep seeing references to a Hoya R72, it costs around 57 for a 58 mm. Has anyone used this filter on a Drebel, and how were the results?

Thanks

Julie

I can't answer your question, but I like your new brain. ;)

Why thanks, I always did think I had a beautiful mind. I just needed a way to show it off, without being Hannibal Lector's dinner, like in that movie!

Here are a couple auctions for you and the B&H price. I just bought a 72mm Hoya R72 for $95.00 off Ebay. The price at B&H is $244. Now that is expensive!!

Kodak still makes Wratten gelatin 3" filters that go for about $10 (last time I looked). If you take care of them, they'll last a long time. You can get a holder for them too.
If you find that you're using one all the time, then I'd get a glass one.
