I was in DC and a motorcade left the WhiteHouse. I grabbed a quick photo with my XT and 17-85. I'm now trying to identify the flag on the car. Any ideas?

Georgia (had to look it up). The nation, not the state. I was luckier when we were in Greece - I could recognize the Portugese flag. The license plate would have helped too, they're country-specific.

According to the CIA database, the flag is similar to Georgia but Georgia's flag lacks the golden top and bottom. It could be a version though.

Gold fringe isn't uncommon for Chief of State or his official rep.

Yeah it's just fringe. It's not part of the flag, really. Georgia's not a bad place. Reminds me of Xenia Onotopp. 8)

Oh, so when did Georgia secede from us? We didn't want them anyways.. :D
