This lens is W-I-D-E at 10mm. The long axis at 10mm stretches your subjects...It gives your photos a different look and can have lots of fun with the different looks. Some samples of all 10mm:

Awesome shots. I wonder how these compare to the EF-S 10-22..there's like, a $200 difference.

Thanks...lot's of threads here comparing the two. Do a search and you'll see alot. My 10D won't fit the EF-S lenses. :(

I use the Tamron all the time, a super versatile lens. This will be my landscape/semi-fisheye lens.

I need to make my web browser block this site.
You should write up a little site blocking tutorial, and it should be a sticky.
Me want too.

Yes...that is the one. I bought mine used from a POTN member. I have a non-US copy, they go for about $450 new. The U.S. copy has a 3 year warranty and the Non-US (gray) has a one year. Found no problems so I'm happy with my copy.

Wish I could have tried your UW at the shoot, but it won't mount on my camera.

It really is a great lens. Hopefully I'll get to experiment more than landscapes now with my newly acquired free time.
Speaking of, i got 2 landscape photos in the 10-20 archive Gabriel. I'll get those car shots in time.

I believe it is a great lens to have...I'm trying to find more potential in it...congrats on your free time! always great to have that!
Yeah, I love my 10-22 also. 10mm is just awesome.
Yes...all kinds of creative stuff at 10mm. I'm thinking of taking a photo of someone pointing to extend their arm length.

awesome shots! That did it - I'm heading over to B&H and picking one up:)
I've been considering fish-eyes(but don't know if i want to fix every image), 14mm asphericals(but don't have the $$$), and the arguements between the canon 10-22 and the sig 10-20. Not sure if the Canon is worth the extra money for an extra stop, and your pics look great. I think the sig might be the right choice:) Thanks!

You can always try both out. I just pushed you over the edge for a UW.;) The sig has a hood and a very nice carrying pouch (better than my 70-200L). I bought mine used from a fellow POTN.:D

Thanks calicokat...It is designed for the 1.6x crop only. Yes the 12-24 is a full frame lens.
Congrats!

Situations arouse and you did what you had to do for a reason. I sold a 85 f/1.8 that I wished I kept but it was my only lens at the time and I needed something more versatile.
nice shots of the helicopter. it's such a fun lens.
Thanks cbock...I've been drooling over it for awhile and finally had the funds to get it.

I brought this thread back up to ask a question... Is this lens still available? I don't see it listed on B&H or Sigma4less.
~edit~
aaak... nevermind. I was looking under wide zoom and it wasn't there. I found it under Aux lens on the Sigma site.
