I have been asked to take some pictures of a band (5 guys) downtown at one of our local landmarks. This would not be an action shot, just a posed shot. Pictures will be taken around 7:45 - 8:15 pm EST today. I know that light may be an issue, and I do not have any external flashes (for I am mostly a gym dad and take pictures at gymnastics meets where flash is a NO NO).
Based on my limited resources (see sig) which would be the best lense to use?
And if you have any helpful tips, please share also.
Thanks.

Got some good shots IMO. Switched between the sigma and the 50mm. Sun going down was my main problem. Shot in RAW/JPEG so I would have some control in PP, and to show the guys what could be done in PP.
I am just glad I got all the feedback to help me make a decision. ;) ;) ;)

You really needed to give us more time. I didn't see it 'till almost 10PM.
I'm glad it worked out.

Shot looks good. Just a tad bit flat but it could be my monitor. Looks like you did a kick ass job with the resources and helpful advice you had. :(

I agree with the flat, maybe because of all of the white in the photo. I dont know, but I do like it. Much better than I would have been able to do! Thats why I stay hidden in dark venues I can always use lighting as an excuse! :o)
