Any comments more than welcome.
Taken 2 years ago, in Newport, RI. At the time, took a 20D with a 70-200mm f4l at 200mm. Nice place. Lots of boats:!:

Wow, I guess there's not a lot of interest in this one. Is it not a good shot? does nothing for anyone? etc. Leave some comments, even if negative. I would appreciate that more than the silence.

Shame nobody has replied as its a nice shot. Although some how the contrast between the dark sky and the water is a tad over powering for me. But i do like the caption also :D!

Hi, I'm just seeing this this morning. I think it looks over sharpened. I tried adding a cooling filter and gaussian blur at 0.3.

Thanks Kevin. I didn't really do any sharpening, in the picture...as the sun was really bright, and created these waves as seen, with a silvery look.
I appreciate the corrections...but the blue seems a bit strong,
Cerbera, thanks, I appreciate the comments. The sunlight, as mentioned was very bright, and it was hazy to boot. So, not much color in the sky, except a greyish tone. Thanks for the reply...much appreciated.

I like how sharp the water looks, it kind of looks like foil. Beautiful shot.

The composition here is dead on with the shoreline riding on the upper horizontal power line and the boat popping out of the upper right power point. Somehow though, I am confused by your image. I want to know why you've partially burnt in the sky (including the tip of the mast which pokes into it). And I want to know why there are so few pure blacks, or flashing white reflections. I sense that you clearly intended this carefully revealed wash. And as hard as I search for the secret, it won't come to me. You've taken on one of the greatest challenges here... object-on-water-at-noon-day... It's an exposure nightmare, and yet you've pulled out a fascinating composition. Still, I wish you'd let the contrasts rip a tad more.
Thanks for sharing...

Thanks Ted, I appreciate the comments. I will have a play with the contrast, etc. in the sky. Basically...it was taken during high noon...and was intended to be this way, as you mentioned. I will have to resize the original, for you to see...one of these days. You will see that there wasn't much that I did to it, except convert to B&W, and adjust the levels a bit.
