Do you guys use Canon filters or third party ones. Are there any benefits to using Canon, is the quality better....... Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking at purchasing:

2 x 77 mm UV,
1 x 67mm UV
1 x 77mm polarising
1 x 67mm polarising

I'm not an expert, but here's what I've heard:

What you pay for is the coating on the filter. The coating that reduces color fringing (aberration) and flare compared to uncoated glass.

For UV and Polarizer I would suspect that there is not much difference in the real world applications. These two seem to be the staple of any camera bag and as with anything else, you pay twice the cost to get that extra 10% increase in performance.

The only real advice I can give is buy low-profile filters for your wide-angle lenses so that you don't get any vignetting.

Canon are good,. some of the other brands are much better.. some are far worse.

Don't get "crystal optics"

The good ones are B&W and Hoya multicoated. Canon are also a good buy.

Getting a really cheap one and putting in front of an expensive lens is a bit of a waste.
