Hi all,

Im thinking about getting some sort of lighting to aid taking portraits and car shots.

I have a 430ex at the moment, and an old manual flashgun. I was thinking of buying a pair of brollies, stands and sync cables w/ adapters and using the bollies with my flashguns. Would this work?

I want a fairly cheap solution, but i dont want to buy junk. I feel rather limited on what i can get cheaply in the UK as Jessops seems rather expensive, and im suspicious of all the ebay stuff that comes from Hong Kong.

Does anyone have suggestions on what would be suitable?

Thanks

I was thinking of buying a pair of brollies, stands and sync cables w/ adapters and using the bollies with my flashguns. Would this work? Yes. I use them all the time. Maybe get a remote flash trigger like the Vivitar SL-2 here. (http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam/User-Guide/Potpourri/Slave-Firing-Test/slave.html)
I want a fairly cheap solution, but i dont want to buy junk. If you ask most people around here, I've been using the same cheap junk for 40 years? :D But it did that job I needed it to. Yesterday I bought a used AC/battery flash for $5 to use as a hair light.
