you could have written your name forwards, then flipped it.
Great images, what sort of light did you use?

Nice one Wilko. How did you find somewhere so dark? Too many street lights where I live, i could never block them out enough. I'm gonna have a go though!!

One thing I found when drawing with lights is the smaller the point of light the better the image you will get. If it is a single led put a bit of tape over the front with a small hole then setup bulb!

Hope you don't mind me contributing. This has been my only work with long exposures and was done a few months ago (hint: see the date on the phone display). I'm sure some of you may have seen it from other forums. Anyway, I may try something new these days as this thread has kick-started my interest again. :)

Thankfully, that was not necessary. Did it by panning vertically (downward) using a tripod.

Wow, that is a very interesting idea you have, oj88. It'd be interesting to see more photos like this, but of something less easily recognizable.

Would'nt you get a similar affect by just zooming in or out slowly???

Not with the S3, I'm afraid. It does not have a manual zoom ring like a typical DSLR. Once the shutter is released, focus and zoom settings are locked within the duration of the exposure.

second shot is pretty cool, free hand drawing like that isn't easy.
