What do these two hot topics have in common with the D-70???
Just this interesting page out of DPReview's D-70 article... :wink:
Seems that Askey's "Pixel Peeping" may shed some insight into our perenial jpeg Vs. RAW and the current PSCS Vs. Propreitary RAW converter algorithms.. debates.
It can all be found on this page;

But with the Camera Raw 2.2 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2460) update the D70 is officially supported (as well as the 1D Mark II and many other new cameras).
p.s. the link above is to the Windows version of the update.

Hi CDS,
I re-read the Canon EOS 300 test after seeing the (considerable) advantage of RAW picture+conversion over the JPEG straight from the D70.
JPEG on D70: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD70/Samples/RAW/res-jpeg.jpg RAW on D70:http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD70/Samples/RAW/res-nikonview.jpg
Maybe Canon has a better conversion algorithm, as the differencs is nowhere as discernible with the 300D.
Best regards,
Andy

True, but not for the purpose of that review.

Andy, what a strange difference between the JPEG and converted RAW image from the D70. The RAW version looks heavily oversharpened (very heavy white halos around the letters).
