South African Penguins

Boulders Beach is situated on Cape Point, South Africa. Aparently it is the only place on the continent where penguins can be found. Also known as the jackass penguin, there were plenty to be found.

I like number 3!! The penguine on number 6 look sad. You might want to try to bring penguines in the back also in focus when taking a group photo.

Nice to see the Jackass Penguins again, or at least that was their old name ;) It is interesting the way they will wander onto the peopled area of the beach totally unfazed by being so close to 'man'.

I only have video footage of them from a trip a few years back. As for the Cape Point, do take care with those Chacma Babbons ~ a few family groups and individuals were at that time very bold and aggressive, we had one in the car who tried to make off with my wifes handbag!!!!!!! The rangers there were armed with catapaults to drive them away from the cars.......but they just keep coming back.

I live in South Africa and we are going to Cape point this weekend, so maybe if I see some Jackass penguins I'll take some shots!
