Challenge #6 - COLORS
My favorite pictures always have the most viberant colors. Brilliant colors separate the good images from the great ones. Since spectacular colors are evident in all types of photography, from landscape to people to macro to nature and beyond, hopefully we get a good variety from each of the disciplines. Good luck, and have fun!

Sunday night from 8pm until 11pm, Niagara Falls was illuminated in the school colors of Virginia Tech: Burnt Orange and Chicago Maroon. Usually the colors rotate through the spectrum each evening and colors change about every 10 minutes. These colors were the only displayed for the entire evening.

AND THE WINNER IS...
This was a tough contest to decide. I actually had to call on my roommate's help to decide a winner.
And the winner is... Pete!
http://www.the-aperture.com/EE/photos/normal/IMG_5088.jpg
His shot has absolutely stunning colors. It's a really, really awesome shot and embodies this contest perfectly. Well done, Pete!
Also, props to all the other entries. It was tough to decide just one shot as they were all so good.

Fantabulous - well done Pete. :D Congratulations!!
I'm realy curious - what is the black shape midway down on the left hand side? For the life of me I can't figure it out.

Many thanks, guys. I'm really pleased with my shot as well, I was blown away when I first saw it on my lcd screen. I've never been able to recreate it since. It's basically just a cooking oil drop on a CD with a flash bounced from behind.
Ones that I enjoyed in this contest are:-
Jamdiver - for his stamen shot - really typifies the glorious colour of nature (this is the shot that I would have chosen if I was running this comp)
Jason-H - for his fireworks shot, I just love seeing patterns in nature
Apollo11 - for the VTech memorial shot
BeckyN - not because the shot was particulalry colourful, but because of the odd visual effect when I scroll the shot up and down!
RobUk - for the wierd Martian Fungus shot, I'd normally shy away from overly processed shots, but I really like that treatment.
thedjo - I love the colourfulness of the Eastern culture - just wish that shot had filled the frame more.
Athena. I'm not too sure what the dark shape on the left was, I think it could be a shadow somehow.
Next one up soon.

Many thanks again....
This is the setup I used for it... All I did was get up close with the 50mm and extension tubes and bounced the flash off the fridge...
