Hiya All,
Found this one hiding on my ' Buddlia ' what a pain in the Butt this was to shoot, it did everything to avoid being shot, it was like Greased Lightning darting here & there, Abseiling down its silk but it wasn't goina win this time
I got my ID from http://bugguide.net/node/view/22750/bgimage
Although the linked shot is from Massachusetts, USA they are here in UK, it appears that the Male is a lot darker all round.
Cheers for now

Not bad shots considering, not as sharp as they could be, but with the lil bugger moving around like it's on speed, no wonder. Crab spiders must have pretty good eyesight, they always seem very nervous, and seem to sense you approacing them from a good 4 or so feet away, at least from my experience with Aussie crab spiders.

Hiya Dave,
Many thanks for your kind words & comments, this one was so lively even if I stood still for 10 Mins the beggar knew I was there, it was so annoying as I really wanted a good sharp Portrait shot of it face, I know it's still in the same spot but it jus will not play Ball with me, YET !!!
Cheers for now

Hi Bandit
Perserverance will eventually pay off. I found a small Jumper that would wait til I got near enough and start to put the camera to my eye and then shoot back into the brickwork, I waited perfectly still in the same spot for 20 minutes and he finally came out for some quick shots
Yours are very good considering the speed of these little blighters

Hiya Lawrie, Brian,
Many thanks for your kind word & comments,
Brian, I'm amazed at the difference between the M & F size & colouration you'd never think they were the same, I've never seen one like this before, you never know it coulda come over from state side on a high level Westerly I guess, I know its hell of a distance but it's plausible ???
Cheers for now

Hiya Extirpate, Alby,
Many thanks for your kind words & comments,
Alby,
I tell you what I've never seen the likes of this one before & it was so damn fast, it moved as fast as any Jumper & used it's Silk like a Lasso to go up or down.
I've spent a couple of Hrs. today looking all over that Buddleia but I'm damned if I can see it, I so wanted to get some better Portrait shots.
Extirpate,
it was quite small about 4mm in the body, but as you say its front legs were huge in proportion & it flailed them around like a thing possessed, definitely saying stay away from me !!
Cheers for now

Yes, they can be tricky lil blighters that don't stand still...they seem to be quite smart, they know you're trying to get a shot of them and they just play very difficult to get, sort of like most females that I know ;)
