I'm going to be photographing a concert for a society that deals with handicapped children. I was wondering about some lens suggestions. I'm using a Digital Rebel. Thanks.

Not enough information.
Big stage, small stage.
Photographer in the front or back.
Single performers or a whole band.
Inside or outside.
Available dim light, or flash, or daylight?

I did some concert-shooting lately. Up close on a fairly big stage with dim lightning and no flash. The 50mm f/1.4 was what saved me. Maximum I could move "away" from the scene was 1.5m so I obviously was restricted to shots of one artist at a time, and not a complete band. But it worked great for me. the Sigma 20mm f/1.8 is next on my lens-wish-list now, so I can get away with more than one guy in each shot, but still get the luxury of a fast lens
Here's the ones I did:
