I need help..
I have a Sony FD Mavica MVC-FD75, (sorry, but work bought it ) that when power is turned on it beeps and has a " drive error" message displayed. The dealer wants 350 to LOOK at it. Anybody have a idea or a cheaper service route.
Thanks

Try removing all the batteries (memory-saving battery, normal battery, etc), leave it alone for an hour or so, put the batteries back and try again.
This sometimes works.

Did you check to make sure there's a floppy disk in there before you turned it on or that it's not write protected and has enough free space/

Also, try another disk. Perhaps the one in the camera is unusable (for some reason.)

Make sure that there isn't any dirt in the drive.

You might need to clean the floppy disk drive head. And I don't think it is worth sending it for repair.

For the cost of repair I'd look at a new camera if you can't figure out how to fix it yourself.

You can find a few of these cameras on E-Bay if you want to replace one instead of repairing it...
