I'm planning to buy a 10D and have my eye on the new canon lens EF 70-300mm DO IS USM....what should be the other lens...I do a lot of detail work photographing stained glass and architectural art. I often have to photograph in low light...please give me some advice..........Redwonder

Go with a good prime............It's a must for low light shooting.

Do you need a wider angle lens than 70mm? You may consider some good prime 24, 28, 35 and 50mm lenses.

How about 17-40/4 $650, 50/1.8 $390, 70-200/4 $550, and 300/4 $1150 for a little over your budget. Or you can sub 50/1.4 with 50/1.8 within your budget??
Personally I can recommend the first three lenses. But I have never used the last one, 300/4.
